A set of ape heads and hands in 1:35 scale is a resin accessory for figure conversions from the Italian brand Royal Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An ape subject turns up only exceptionally among modeling products, which makes the accessory all the more interesting. The set holds the heads and hands of primates cast in polyurethane resin in 1:35 scale and serves for figure conversions, not as a finished figure. You will not find a complete body, a base or paints in the box.
The most common route is replacing the head and hands on an ordinary plastic figure: the body stays and the character changes completely. A procedure like that opens up subjects away from military hardware, from film and fantasy scenes through circus and menagerie settings to humorous vignettes. Since this is an accessory, count on having to obtain the donor body and the pose yourself. A scene with a menagerie or a circus wagon, where the ape subject is the main theme, also comes out well.
Cut the original head off with a saw at collar level and level the mating surface with a file. With a drill of roughly one millimeter make a hole for a wire pin that will strengthen the joint. The materials differ, so cement for polystyrene will not help; reach for cyanoacrylate and fill the gap at the neck with putty. Degrease and prime the whole part before painting.
