1:35 Assorted hands set No.5 is a resin set of replacement hands for figures in 1:35 scale, the fifth part of a numbered series from the Royal Model brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The number in the name refers to the position within a series that the Italian manufacturer has been expanding step by step. Each part brings a different selection of poses, so the individual sets complement one another rather than replace one another. The castings are resin and in this scale a single piece measures only a few millimeters.
Hands give away a badly built figure sooner than anything else. A mass-produced casting often has them closed around an object that will not be in your scene, or in a position that does not match what the figure is doing. Swapping them for an open palm, a pointing finger or a fist changes the sense of the figure more than repainting the whole uniform.
Cut the original hand off with a saw at the wrist, square to the forearm, level the surface with a file and drill a hole in both parts for a short pin of thin wire. The pin secures both the position and the strength of the joint; super glue on its own would not hold for long on such a small area. Fill the remaining gap with putty and run abrasive paper over it until the transition disappears.
Fasten the small parts to a wooden stick with double-sided tape while you work, so that they do not fly off. Looking for a three-millimeter casting in the carpet usually takes longer than reworking the figure itself.
