Sd.Kfz.251/18 Ausf.A Beobachtungspanzerwagen is a plastic kit of the German half-track artillery observation vehicle in 1:35 scale from ICM, including crew figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit captures the less common observation and signals version of the medium half-track carrier Sd.Kfz.251 in the Ausf.A variant. The box contains parts for the hull and the running gear, a clear sprue for the transparent parts, plastic crew figures, decals and vinyl tracks. The model is built from individual parts and is intended to be glued and painted.
The Sd.Kfz.251 was the most widespread German medium half-track of the Second World War, developed by Hanomag before the war broke out. The 251/18 version served as an observation and signals vehicle for artillery units. Its recognition features were a map table and extended fire control equipment, thanks to which the crew could coordinate artillery support from forward positions.
First assemble and paint the running gear and the interior of the hull before you close it up, because the details are hard to reach later. Use thin cement for plastic models, then fill and sand the joints. A primer base, the main colors laid on with an airbrush and weathering done with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects on the tracks and the underside of the vehicle all work best.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
