The German 8.8 cm Flak 36/37 in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter - a plastic kit of the legendary anti-aircraft and anti-tank gun known as the acht-acht.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the heavy 8.8 cm Flak 36/37 gun, nicknamed the acht-acht. The model in 1:35 scale captures the gun together with its cruciform mount, and thanks to the way the parts are broken down it allows the weapon to be built in the firing position, in the anti-tank role and in the folded state for transport. The package is usually complemented by a metal gun barrel and figures of the gun crew; the exact contents follow the particular edition.
The 88 mm gun of the Flak 18/36/37 family was among the best-known German weapons of the Second World War. Originally an anti-aircraft gun, its high muzzle velocity and flat trajectory made it famous above all as a feared anti-tank weapon that could punch through the armor of practically any tank of the day. The Flak 37 version differed from the earlier ones mainly in its fire control and data transmission equipment.
First assemble the mount, the elevation and traverse mechanism and the transport bogies carefully, and only then the barrel and the shield. Glue the joints on the plastic with thin modeling cement and apply a primer before painting. Spray the paint with an airbrush if you can; the broken surface of the gun comes into its own once a wash has gone into the recesses and fine pigments suggest dust and mud on the mount. A metal gun barrel looks good in a dark metallic shade with a light polish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
