Injection-molded plastic kit of the French Hotchkiss H39 light tank in 1:35 scale from Bronco. The model faithfully captures the characteristic rounded cast construction of the hull and the turret and offers finely rendered detail of the running gear.
The Hotchkiss H39 was a French light tank created by improving the earlier H35 type with a more powerful engine and a reworked rear of the hull. It was armed with a 37 mm gun and a machine gun and served in the ranks of the French army in 1940. After the defeat of France a number of captured vehicles were taken over by the German army, which used them under its own designation for occupation and rear-area duty, for anti-partisan operations and for training. The small, light tank was designed above all to accompany infantry, and it put armor protection ahead of speed.
Finish and paint the running gear with its small wheels before you fit the tracks. The rounded cast surfaces come into their own with subtle shading of the paint and the edges lit with a lighter tone. The model lends itself to a French as well as a German configuration, so choose the particular version and its matching markings before painting. For the final look add washes in the recesses and pigments on the lower areas for a sense of dust and mud from the ground.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
