The German Kfz. 13 Adler armored car is a plastic kit of an interwar German light armored car in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Kfz. 13 light armored car in 1:35 scale from Bronco. The vehicle stood on the chassis of a civilian Adler passenger car and is one of the earliest pieces of German armor of all.
The Kfz. 13 appeared in the early 1930s as a stopgap: Germany was not allowed to build armored vehicles at the time, so an armored body was set on the chassis of an ordinary civilian passenger car. The result was an open vehicle with an armored hull, a machine gun behind a low shield and no roof, and the crews gave it a mocking name for how fragile it was. These were reconnaissance vehicles and completely obsolete by 1939, yet they still went into Poland and into France. The sister Kfz. 14 version was the radio one, with a frame antenna in place of the machine gun.
The open armored hull means the interior is fully visible, so finish and paint it before you close the vehicle up. Cut the small parts off with a sharp blade and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. If rubber tires are included, fit them onto the rims dry and only once the rims are painted. Early German vehicles wore dark gray with no camouflage, which takes a pronounced edge highlight with a dry brush; without it the finish looks flat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
