1:700 IJN Aircraft Carrier Amagi from Fujimi is a plastic kit of the Japanese Unryu-class aircraft carrier Amagi in 1:700 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi presents the aircraft carrier Amagi, the second completed ship of the Unryu class, in 1:700 scale. The Unryu class came about as a simplified wartime type derived from the layout of the ship Hiryu, and the model with its slender hull and full-length flight deck will nicely complete a collection of Japanese aircraft carriers.
Amagi was completed in August 1944, but she never joined combat operations because of the shortage of aircraft, fuel and trained crews. She lay at anchor off the base at Kure, where American air raids heavily damaged her in July 1945; the ship capsized in shallow water and was scrapped after the war.
The basis is careful separation of the small parts with sharp nippers and bonding with a thin cement. Spray the hull naval gray, set the flight deck apart and bring out the engraved lines with a wash. Ships from the end of the war also carried camouflage schemes, which offers an attractive color option — check the particular pattern against the instructions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
