Injection-molded plastic kit of the German Bergepanzer IV recovery vehicle in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model is based on the chassis of the Panzer IV tank with the turret removed and offers a detailed rendering of the hull including the internal equipment. The box holds parts in gray plastic, photo-etched metal details, a metal chain and individual track links.
Toward the end of the Second World War the Germans rebuilt some of their Panzer IV tanks into Bergepanzer IV recovery vehicles. The turret was removed and replaced by a wooden cover, winches and a folding jib, which served to recover bogged-down vehicles and to change power packs in the field. Only a small number of vehicles were converted.
Assemble the interior and the running gear before closing the hull. The individual track links call for patience, so work through them in shorter runs. Lay the base coat down with an airbrush over a primer, and build the weathering with washes and pigments. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
