1:35 German infantry Cigarette Break - WWII is a resin figure of a seated German infantryman on a break, intended for dioramas in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A seated figure of a German soldier is among the subjects that work on a diorama at once, because a viewer recognizes the action without explanation. According to the supplier the figure is modeled to sit in the sidecar of a motorcycle and is complemented by a machine gun; the motorcycle itself is not in the package and has to be obtained separately. The casting is resin and is sold unpainted.
A motorcycle with a sidecar served in the German army for reconnaissance, for the quick movement of messengers and as a mobile machine-gun position. The crew consisted of a driver and a gunner in the sidecar, who had his weapon ready on a pivot mount. As experience from the Eastern Front accumulated these machines lost importance, because they coped badly with mud and with snow, but in the first years of the war they were one of the most conspicuous elements of an advancing column.
Dry-fit the figure in the particular model, because the internal dimensions of sidecars differ between individual manufacturers. The legs and the back often have to be sanded back lightly so that the figure sits without leaning. The painting is more comfortable while the figure is outside the sidecar, so glue it in only at the end.
The package contains the figure alone, without a vehicle and without paints.
