A set of plastic figures in 1:35 scale on the theme of the German Panzergrenadier units, that is the infantry that operated alongside the armored units in the Second World War. It is not a vehicle model but an accessory that fills the space around one. The Vol.1 in the name shows that this is the first part: the manufacturer has released a sequel to it as well, so the scene can be extended with further figures in the same style and scale.
The Panzergrenadiers were motorized and mechanized infantry units. They traveled in trucks and half-track carriers and fought together with the tanks, covering their flanks and clearing ground an armored vehicle could not reach on its own. Their kit matched the ordinary field equipment of the Wehrmacht: field blouse, helmet, belt with ammunition pouches and a personal weapon. That is exactly why the figures can be used with a large part of German vehicles of the Second World War, as they are not tied to a single type of equipment.
First clean the plastic figures of their parting lines with a sharp scalpel and fine sandpaper and only then put them together; a flash line across a fold of the blouse would otherwise show in the result. Smooth plastic benefits from a thin coat of primer, as paint holds worse without it. A uniform looks best with a dark wash in the folds and a lighter dry brush on the edges and the equipment. Leave the faces for last so that paint from the surrounding areas is not dragged into them.
