This injection-molded plastic kit from Hobby Boss in 1:35 scale captures the German heavy tank destroyer Jagdtiger in the version with running gear of Porsche design. The set contains the sturdy hull, the superstructure and running gear with a different arrangement of road wheels than the more common Henschel version. The Jagdtiger was the heaviest German tank destroyer built in series in the Second World War. It was created on the lengthened chassis of the Tiger II tank and was armed with a massive 12.8 cm gun in a fixed armored superstructure. There were two variants of the running gear: the more common Henschel and the less numerous version with Porsche running gear, which used a different arrangement of suspension and road wheels. The vehicle had thick frontal armor but was very heavy and had little mobility.
Assemble and finish the running gear and the tracks before closing up the hull. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic, sand the joints and apply a base coat. A combination of dark yellow, green and brown suits the late war German scheme; final washes and pigments will bring out the texture of the armor, the rivets and the dust and mud effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
