Gulaschkanone - a German mobile field kitchen on the AHN truck in 1:35 scale is a plastic kit from the Ukrainian maker ICM. An unconventional vehicle for rear-area scenes and for a cabinet.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of a German mobile field kitchen combined with the AHN truck of French origin. The nickname Gulaschkanone, that is goulash cannon, became established for field kitchens from their silhouette with a tall chimney and a towing eye, which from a distance resembled a gun. ICM has covered the AHN chassis across a whole family of variants, and this one is among the least usual.
The AHN truck was a French three-and-a-half-ton type that after 1940 passed in quantity into German service as the Lastkraftwagen 3,5 t. It served for supply, for evacuation and for carrying special bodies. A field kitchen was among the equipment no unit could do without: it cooked for a whole company, traveled in the second echelon, and its crew worked even when the others were resting. That is exactly why it is a rewarding subject for a rear-area scene, where a number of figures can be gathered around the vehicle.
It is practical to work the cab and the kitchen section separately and to join them only after the main coat. The cauldrons and the sheet-metal parts will take a different shade from the body - metal can be imitated with a dark base and a light dry brush in a graphite shade. The most interesting part is the weathering around the firebox and the chimney: soot, greasy traces and scuffed paint look credible and tell at once that the vehicle has served. Add dust and mud to the wheels and the underside with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
