Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from ICM. The model captures the prototype of the German Leichttraktor light tank in the Rheinmetall version of the early 1930s. It is a kit with rich detail on the hull, the turret and the running gear. It is supplied as a set of plastic parts to be assembled and painted.
The Leichttraktor came about at a time when the Treaty of Versailles forbade Germany to develop tanks, and the cover designation tractor was meant to keep the project secret. The prototypes were designed by Rheinmetall and Krupp and were tested, among other places, at the secret proving ground at Kazan on the territory of the then USSR. The tests between 1930 and 1932 did not turn out satisfactorily and the vehicle never reached production, yet it remained a valuable stage in the development of German armor.
Assemble and clean up the running gear and the tracks before closing the hull up, so that they stay well accessible. Laying the base color on with an airbrush is recommended, followed by picking the rivets and edges out with a dry brush and a patina built up with washes and pigments. The model will be appreciated by modelers who like less usual interwar equipment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
