A comprehensive superdetail set in photo-etched metal and resin from the Italian company Royal Model, intended for a model of the tank destroyer Marder III Ausf.H in 1:35 scale from Italeri. The set refines and completes the parts from the box — thin photo-etch replaces thick plastic and resin parts add features that injection molding cannot manage. It is not a standalone model of the vehicle but an accessory for advanced modelers.
The Marder III was a German tank destroyer of the Second World War built on the chassis of the Czechoslovak Panzer 38(t) tank. The Ausf.H version carried the 7.5 cm PaK 40 anti-tank gun in an open fighting superstructure. It was an improvised but effective answer to Allied tanks; the open hull lets the details that the set brings out show.
Bend the photo-etch over an edge with a ruler, wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent and cut the casting blocks off. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Fine sheet-metal features are easier to paint once they are glued on; fine the weathering down with a wash and a dry brush.
This is an accessory in photo-etch and resin. The base vehicle kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
