Damaged road wheels for the Merkava Mk.3 1:35 (Reskit)

A resin (3D-printed) add-on set in 1:35 scale from Reskit. It is not a standalone model but a collection of replacement rubber-tired road wheels shown as battle-damaged, made for plastic kits of the Israeli Merkava Mk.3 tank. The set serves to bring the running gear to life and to build realistic dioramas with damaged vehicles.

What the set is for

Damaged wheels with torn or missing rubber tires give a finished tank a story: a hit, a long run over heavy terrain or wear in the field. The parts replace the original plastic wheels from the base kit and suit dioramas and wrecks especially well. The set is laid out as an upgrade to the commonly available Merkava Mk.3 kits.

Building tips

First wash the resin parts free of release agent residue, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Bring out the damaged places with a dark wash, rust and pigments; rubber suits a matte finish, and bare metal where it is rubbed through can be suggested with graphite or silver.
