A diorama set in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian firm ICM. Sets of this type are themed packages which bring more than one kit together into a single scene, so that the modeler gets a whole subject in one box. The subject is a German mobile (schnelle) brigade on the Western Front in 1943.
In the German armed forces the designation schnelle was carried by formations built on mobility. They combined motorized infantry, armored and half-tracked vehicles, reconnaissance cars and vehicle-towed artillery, so that they could shift the center of a defense quickly. In 1943 units were stationed in the west whose task was a rapid move to threatened stretches of the coast. For a modeler a scene like that is interesting above all for the combination of several different vehicles and for the uniform dusty look that holds the whole composition together.
On the vehicles, finish the running gear and the interior before you close the hull up - afterwards you will no longer reach them. Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic and unify the joints with a primer. Spray the base shade with an airbrush in thin coats; when building more than one vehicle for a single scene, mix the paint in one batch, so that the shade matches on all the pieces. Choose the weathering to suit the setting: a dark wash into the recesses, a dry brush on the edges, dust pigments on the lower parts and mud effects on the running gear. A unifying filter over the whole scene will level out small differences between the individual models.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
