An injection-molded plastic kit of the Light Car Patrol on a Ford Model T chassis of 1917, in 1:35 scale, made by ICM (Ukraine). The box holds plastic sprues and waterslide decals. The model captures the lightened open car used on desert and field patrols in the First World War.
The Ford Model T was a legendary mass-produced car whose simple, light chassis proved itself in military service as well. In the Light Car Patrol form it served in the First World War, above all in the Middle Eastern and desert theaters, for reconnaissance and patrolling in difficult terrain. Its open, light structure and good mobility made it an ideal machine for fast desert patrols.
Separate and clean up the small parts of the slender chassis and the wheels carefully, and dry fitting is worth doing. Handle the gluing with liquid cement for plastic. The open structure means the interior will be visible, so paint it before you close the car up. For the weathering of a vehicle from a desert setting, dust pigments and light washes for a faded paint effect work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
