The sheet-metal fenders Royal Model 1:35 Mudguards set Tiger I replace thick plastic parts and let you suggest bends and missing segments. Intended for the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Replacement fenders from the brand Royal Model for a model of the German Tiger I heavy tank. The metal version lets you suggest the bending and tearing that is practically impossible to imitate from a molding. The target kit is Tamiya.
The fenders of the Tiger I were made of thin sheet and in service they were handled without regard to appearance. They folded up, bent against obstacles, whole segments were missing after a hit and crews sometimes took them off altogether so that mud and snow would not pack between them. The front sections were also often folded up when driving in difficult terrain. It is exactly this detail that decides whether a finished model looks like a combat machine or like a factory-new exhibit. In period photographs you will find the same type of vehicle with a complete set of fenders, with half a set and with none at all.
Make the bend in several light steps; metal remembers its shape. Suggest a tear with a cut from a scalpel and then round the edge off with an abrasive. Mud settles quickly around the folding hinges, so a thicker pigment mixture belongs there. For a scraped edge it is enough to go over it carefully with graphite or a metallic pigment.
Neither the vehicle itself nor the materials for the build are enclosed.
