A set of photo-etched numbers in the small size in 1:35 scale makes it possible to create your own figures on signs, plates and vehicles in a diorama.

This number set in thin metal complements the matching alphabet from the same manufacturer and offers digits for composing dates, street numbers, plates and tactical markings. The smaller variant suits small surfaces where taller characters would overpower their surroundings. Royal Model supplies the same numbers in a larger form as well.
Numerical data are surprisingly ubiquitous on a model: a house number by a door, a distance marker beside a road, a weight plate on a bridge, a maker's plate on a machine or a serial marking on a vehicle door. The viewer takes them in unconsciously and thanks to them the scene feels inhabited. It is exactly such small things that make the difference between a model on display and a believable scene. Unlike a decal, a metal digit has real thickness and is not given away by a glossy edge.
Mark the spacing out in advance, because uneven gaps catch the eye more than a slightly tilted digit. Carry the broken-out parts on the tip of a damp toothpick, as tweezers like to flick them away. Smooth the surface beforehand, since on a rough surface a character will not seat over its whole area. Once dry, a dark wash run into the foot of the character brings out the shape.
Glue, paints and a backing surface are not included in the package.
