The last production version of the Panzer IV has simplifications of its own. The 1:35 Panzer IV J - Part 1 set forms the first part of the additional equipment for its model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The first of two connected packages with which the brand Royal Model equips a model of the German Panzer IV Ausf. J medium tank in 1:35 scale. Splitting into two parts is usual with the more extensive sets from this brand, and both can also be obtained separately.
The Ausf. J came in the middle of 1944 as the last production version of a type that had accompanied the German army from the first day of the war. The most significant change was the deletion of the auxiliary motor-generator that powered the turret traverse: from then on the crew turned the turret by hand, but the space that was freed held further fuel and the machine gained greater range. The main weapon remained the long-barreled 75 mm gun, with which the Panzer IV kept its combat value even against newer opponents. Production ran until the end of the war, because a simpler and cheaper machine was at that moment more valuable than further heavy tanks.
It pays to keep both parts of the set together and to go through them at once before building, so that you know what each of them covers. Finish the side surfaces of the turret and the hull before the fenders are due. Camouflage of this period tended to be applied in haste and unevenly, which can be put to good use when painting.
The accessory comes without paint and without the model of the tank it belongs to.
