The figure set 1:35 Pin-Up Pilot combines a girl figure in flying kit with a section of the front of an aircraft, a base and a decal sheet.
Responsibility details are not available.
This figure set from the Italian brand Royal Model combines two things usually sold separately: a girl figure in flying kit and a section of the front fuselage of a fighter, which she leans against. Besides the figure itself, a base and a decal sheet are included, so the finished scene comes about without a further kit. Everything is cast in polyurethane resin.
The paintings of girls on the fuselages of the bombers and fighters of the Second World War drew on the calendars and magazine illustrations of the day. Crews marked their machine with them, named it after them and wore the same motif on a flying jacket. That is exactly why nose art became a field of its own: it is not mere decoration but the distinguishing mark of a particular aircraft and of its people.
The skin tends to be the most demanding: work from a light base coat toward thin glazed shadows, never the other way around. Keep the uniform and the nose matte, so that they contrast with the gloss of the decals. Those sit best on a smooth gloss intermediate varnish and are oversprayed with a matte one once they have dried. Inspect the mold seams against the light before the primer. Leave the base in a muted tone, so that it does not overpower the figure.
The set is intended to be glued and painted; the paints and the glue are supplied by the modeler.
