The second stage of detailing is opened by 1:35 Sd. Kfz. 165 Hummel - Part 2, with metal parts for the superstructure of the howitzer. Intended for the Dragon kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second part of the photo-etched accessory aims at the places where injection-molded plastic is necessarily thicker than real sheet metal: the edges of the open superstructure, the interior fittings of the fighting compartment, the hinges and the small ironwork. It does not rule out the first set, quite the opposite, as together they form a whole and can be used on a single build. The set is intended for the Dragon kit.
The crew of the Hummel worked under the open sky, protected only by thin side plates. Inside, the racks for the rounds, the loading area and the commander's station were crowded together, yet the vehicle could carry only a fraction of the ammunition needed for sustained fire support. That is exactly why a gunless version for carrying rounds was built alongside it, which rode in the battery together with the armed vehicles and replenished them right in the firing position. Against bad weather the crew had only a tarpaulin stretched over the superstructure.
It is worth assembling and painting the inside of the superstructure before the upper part of the hull is closed up, because later you will no longer be able to reach it. Once the thin sheet edges are glued in place, sand them gently so that no visible step is left anywhere, and use a spray primer on the metal, applied in thin coats.
To finish the job you will need your own kit, paints and cyanoacrylate glue.
