The plastic kit Hobby Boss BT-2 (mid) (1:35) – the Soviet fast wheel-cum-track tank of the early 1930s.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet fast tank BT-2 in its mid production version in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The model has a slide-molded hull and turret and photo-etched parts for fine detail are included. It is a compact armor kit with a straightforward build.
The BT-2 was the first of the line of Soviet fast tanks BT (bystrokhodny tank, meaning fast tank), built from the beginning of the 1930s. It was based on the design of the American engineer Christie and its distinguishing feature was the ability to run both on tracks and, once they were removed, on its wheels, which gave it high speed on made-up roads. Light armor was offset by excellent mobility. The BT line was a development step toward the later T-34 tank.
Assemble and fine-tune the Christie suspension, the wheels and the tracks before painting. A primer, an airbrush and the uniform green shade typical of Soviet interwar equipment work well. Bring out the details with a wash in the seams, the edges with dry-brushing, and weather the running gear with pigments for dust and mud. Bond the photo-etched parts with super glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
