Injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet JS-2M heavy tank in the late configuration, in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The kit captures the characteristic features of the late production version. Photo-etched parts and cables are usually included; the exact contents of the box are given in the instructions.
The JS-2 (IS-2, named after Iosif Stalin) was a Soviet heavy tank of the Second World War armed with a 122 mm gun. The JS-2M version is a modernization with a reworked hull and added items of equipment. Tanks of this series were used at the end of the war to break through fortified positions.
Assemble and paint the running gear first and only then finish the hull and the turret. Use thin plastic cement and bond the small photo-etched parts with super glue. Apply a primer before painting; washes, filters and pigments for mud and dust effects suit the weathering well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
