An injection-molded plastic kit from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM in 1:35 scale. The subject is a Soviet army truck with six wheels, that is, three axles, on whose load bed a box body is carried, a so-called shelter. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, the parts are on sprues and they are assembled by ordinary modeling technique.
Three-axle trucks formed the backbone of supply and rear services. The six-wheel configuration gave a vehicle markedly better going across country than two-axle types and a higher load capacity, which made it a universal chassis for the most varied bodies. A box body turned a truck into a mobile workplace: according to its equipment it served as a workshop, a signals post or a command post. It is precisely this combination of a utilitarian chassis and an enclosed box that is interesting for a model, as it offers both the vehicle and a scene.
Start with the chassis: assemble the frame, the axles and the springs and let them cure thoroughly, and only then put any load on the build. Fit the wheels only once the chassis is painted, otherwise they are difficult to mask. It is good to finish and paint the box body separately from the cab and the frame and to join it on only at the end. Use a thin cement for plastic applied with a fine brush into the seams. Lay down a primer before painting, spray the base shade with an airbrush and play the areas out in shade, so that the large flat walls do not come across flat. For weathering, a wash into the pressings and the latches, a light chipping of the edges and finally dust and mud pigments from the wheels upward suit; on a truck that does the biggest piece of work.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
