This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Zvezda captures the Soviet military off-road vehicle UAZ-469. It is a new tool; the box contains plastic parts (including clear ones for the glazing), rubber tires, decals and instructions. The vehicle represents a general-purpose light off-road machine comparable in its role to the legendary Jeep.
The UAZ-469 replaced the older GAZ-69 and entered production at the beginning of the 1970s. Thanks to all-wheel drive, a rugged design and simple maintenance it became one of the most widespread light off-road vehicles of the Soviet army and of the armies of the Warsaw Pact. It served for liaison, reconnaissance and carrying personnel and also as a general-purpose carrier, and in many countries it stayed in use long after the Cold War.
Finish and paint the interior and the chassis before you close up the body. Use a thin modeling cement on the plastic, and do not glue the rubber tires with an ordinary cement for plastic. Apply a primer before the airbrush. A single-color army finish comes alive nicely when the detail is picked out with a wash and dust or mud pigments are used to weather the chassis and the tires. For a higher level of detail, accessories from other brands can be used (they are not included in the package).
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
