Injection-molded plastic kit of the American air-landing light tank M22 Locust (development designation T9E1) in 1:35 scale from Bronco. The package contains richly broken-up plastic, clear parts for the periscopes and the lights, photo-etched parts and decals for several marking options.
The M22 Locust was an American light tank designed specially for air transport - it was small and light so that it would fit under a large transport glider or aircraft. Its armament was a 37 mm gun and a machine gun. The US Army used it in action only marginally, but British airborne troops used it on a larger scale during the airborne landing across the Rhine, carried in heavy Hamilcar gliders. It was an interesting type and a prized one among collectors.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish the running gear before closing the hull up. Fit and mask the clear parts of the periscopes and the lights only before varnishing. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer before spraying and use an airbrush; an olive finish is brought to life by highlighting the edges with dry-brushing, washes into the recesses and pigments for dusty and muddy effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
