A set of injection-molded plastic figures of the US crew of the B-26 Marauder bomber in 1:48 scale from ICM. Note: this is not an aircraft model, but a supplementary set of figures intended to bring a bomber model or an airfield diorama to life. The package contains four airmen in period USAAF uniforms and gear, who can be placed around the aircraft or at its combat stations.
The Martin B-26 Marauder was an American twin-engine medium bomber deployed during the Second World War. It was known for its high speed and rugged construction; the crew typically consisted of several members — pilots, a navigator/bombardier and gunners. The figures depict airmen in the typical dress worn during operations over Europe and other theaters.
Carefully separate the plastic figures from the sprues, clean up the mold seams and glue them with plastic cement (joints can be filled and sanded). Apply a primer before painting. Skin, uniforms and gear work well with acrylic or oil paints applied by brush; bring out the recesses with a wash and the edges with dry-brushing. For an accurate result, work from period photographs of USAAF dress.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the aircraft model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
