Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German heavy night fighter Dornier Do 217N-1 in 1:48 scale, made by ICM (Ukraine). The model captures the powerful night variant with liquid-cooled engines, heavy gun armament and radar. The box holds plastic sprues and waterslide decals for several machines. The finished twin-engine model has a respectable wingspan.
The Dornier Do 217 was a large twin-engine aircraft used both as a bomber and as a night fighter. The N-1 version was derived from the bomber variant, was given powerful liquid-cooled engines, a solid nose with heavy cannon and machine gun armament and an onboard radar for night interceptions. Night fighter Dorniers served with several night fighter units, mainly in 1942 and 1943.
Start with the cockpit interior and paint it before you close the fuselage. Fit the fine radar aerial elements at the end of the build. Bond the plastic with liquid cement. The large wing surfaces come into their own on a smoothly sprayed base, an airbrush handles the night camouflage transitions best, and a dark wash brings out the engraving.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
