An injection-molded plastic kit of the early American jet fighter North American F-86A Sabre in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer Clear Prop Models, in the Advanced version. Compared with the basic release it adds photo-etch and richer equipment. It is a kit with fine detail, so it is best to dry-fit the parts repeatedly before building.
The F-86 Sabre was the first American fighter with a swept wing and one of the icons of the start of the jet era. The early F-86A version stood at the birth of the type and became famous for its combats with opponents over Korea. Its elegant silhouette with the swept wing and the circular nose intake set the direction for a whole generation of jet fighters.
Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage, and bond the photo-etch with super glue. Mask the clear canopy and glue it on after varnishing. The natural metal surface of the early Sabres comes out nicely with a metallic paint on a smoothly sanded base. Join the parts with liquid cement, treat the surface with a primer and lay the paints down with an airbrush in thin coats.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
