Clear Prop Models 1:48 F-86A Sabre wheel set type 2 is the second version offered of the replacement landing gear wheels for a Sabre model.

This item is the second variant of the wheels of the landing gear for a model of the F-86A in 1:48 scale. Just as with the sister item, this is an accessory, not the aircraft itself. The existence of two versions reflects the fact that the wheel hubs on these machines were changed during production as well as in operation, and the modeler chooses according to the piece he is building.
The landing gear carries the whole model and its wheels stay in view even when the cockpit is closed and the rest of the build is finished. A casting allows a sharper tread pattern to be fitted, a more distinct transition between the rim and the tire and a clean circumference without the trace of a mold that would otherwise have to be sanded away laboriously.
Rinse the parts before the build and get rid of the traces of mold release. Level the seating surface, so that the wheel sits straight on the landing gear leg and the model does not stand crooked. Flatten the tire with a matte varnish and leave the rim somewhat more saturated instead, and draw out the edge between them with a dark line. Fine dust at the place of contact with the ground will unify the model with a stand or a base and will tell a machine that has been taxiing from one freshly finished.
