An injection-molded plastic kit of the American single-seat F/A-18E Super Hornet carrier fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. It is a new tooling with a large number of parts and fine surface detail. The box contains clear plastic, photo-etched parts and decals for the marking options, so you have a solid basis for a detailed build straight out of the box.
The F/A-18E Super Hornet is the enlarged and modernized version of the US Navy's F/A-18 Hornet carrier aircraft. Compared with the original Hornet it has a lengthened fuselage, a larger wing area, more powerful engines and more pylons for weapons and fuel. The single-seat E version (the two-seat one is the F) serves as a universal fighter and strike machine and has formed the backbone of US Navy carrier aviation since the turn of the millennium.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage; glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate and mask the clear canopy. Apply a primer before painting and put the colors on with an airbrush. On the gray naval schemes, fine emphasis of the panel lines and discreet dirtying around the exhausts and the pylons stand out well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
