Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The subject is the American Vought F4U Corsair fighter in the F4U-1A version. This is a kit, not an accessory: the box holds the plastic parts of the whole aircraft, which have to be cut from the sprues, glued together and painted.
The Corsair was a single-engine fighter with a powerful radial engine and the characteristic cranked wing in the shape of an inverted W, which made it possible to use a large propeller while shortening the main landing gear legs. Compared with the first production batches the F4U-1A version brought a raised pilot's seat and a modified canopy, which markedly improved the view forward, especially when landing on a carrier. From the middle of the war the aircraft served as a carrier and land-based fighter and as a fighter-bomber.
Finish and paint the cockpit first, because once the fuselage is closed there is no access to it. Paint the engine and its cowling separately and join them only once dry. Mask the canopy accurately, and with the sliding section consider the open position so that the interior stands out. Handle the folding wingtips according to whether you want the aircraft in a display case or on a deck. Spray the base with an airbrush in thin coats; a gloss varnish under the decals prevents silvering and a matte varnish evens out the surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
