A set from the LööKplus range for the British Handley Page Hampden bomber in the B Mk.I bomber version, 1:48 scale. This is not an airplane kit but an accessory. Its basis is a colored resin instrument panel and photo-etched steel seat belts, that is, the same as the basic LööK set offers. The plus in the designation means that the package is extended with further printed parts. The manufacturer has designated the set for the ICM kit.
The Hampden was one of the three British bombers that Bomber Command entered the Second World War with. Its narrow fuselage with a deep profile offered the crew only very cramped space, and the view through the extensive glazing means that on a model the cockpit really is visible. It was powered by two Bristol Pegasus radial engines. After the night raids over Germany the Hampdens moved on to patrol and torpedo duties.
Try the parts dry while the fuselage is open. Glue the resin parts with super glue, bend the steel belts over the edge of a ruler and shape them with tweezers. Do not clear coat the finished colored panel heavily; a thin coat of matte varnish is amply enough, or the rendered dial faces will be flooded.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The ICM kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
