Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet supersonic fighter MiG-19S in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. It is a new tooling with a finely engraved surface, clear plastic for the canopy glazing, a small photo-etched fret and decals for several marking variants. The model captures the S day fighter version, the NATO code name Farmer C.
The MiG-19 was the first Soviet production fighter able to fly at supersonic speed in level flight. It was powered by a pair of jet engines and stood out for its markedly swept wing. The MiG-19S version was a day fighter armed with cannon, which formed the basis of series production of the type and brought improved controls. The MiG-19 spread to a number of countries and was built under license outside the Soviet Union as well, where a range of air forces operated it in modified versions long after it was introduced.
Use thin cement for plastic, and glue the photo-etched and clear parts with super glue. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and put the paints on with an airbrush. On natural metal schemes, metalizer paints applied over a smooth, polished base work well; take care to seat the pair of nozzles correctly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
