A set of gunsights of two types, designated Mk.18 and A-1, in 1:48 scale. A replacement for simplified parts in the cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A gunsight sits in the cockpit in front of the pilot, above the instrument panel, and it is one of the first details you notice on a model with an open canopy. This set carries two types, designated Mk.18 and A-1. In kits the gunsight tends to be coarsely rendered, with blunt edges, because a fine structure is hard to get into injection-molded plastic.
Replacement gunsights in 1:48 scale, rendered more finely than the kit parts. You use them while building the cockpit in place of the original part, or where the kit has no gunsight at all. Which of the two types belongs to the machine you are building should be checked against the documentation for your subject.
The parts are not polystyrene; they are glued with cyanoacrylate applied in a really small amount, best on the tip of a pin. Cut surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest; with a part this small, work over a tray so that it does not vanish. Wash it before painting and let it dry. The body of the gunsight is usually painted a dark flat shade, and metal parts can be suggested with a dry brush. If your subject had a glass reflector, cut one from thin clear film and glue it in at the very end.
The set suits modelers who build a cockpit with an open canopy and want the small fittings in it to match the real subject as well. The work calls for tweezers, a sharp blade and calm. The package contains only the parts stated; the model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
