Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the unarmed reconnaissance version of the famous two-seat fighter RF-4E Phantom II in 1:48 scale from Italeri. According to the manufacturer the package contains decals for five marking variants and color instructions. The assembled model reaches a length of around 40 cm and is among the more prominent pieces in a collection of modern jet aircraft.
The RF-4E was the export photo-reconnaissance version of the proven F-4 Phantom II. It combined reconnaissance equipment with the airframe and the powerful engines of the fighter version; instead of armament it carried cameras and infrared and radar reconnaissance sensors in a lengthened nose. It thus made reconnaissance possible in any weather. Its main user was the Luftwaffe, and it also flew in Japan, Greece, Israel and Iran, among other places.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit of the two-man crew before closing the fuselage. Consider adding weight in the nose so that the model stands on its nose gear. Apply a primer before painting and put the paints on with an airbrush; on multi-color European camouflage you will appreciate quality masks and fine accentuation of the panel lines with a discreet patina.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
