An injection-molded plastic kit from Italeri in 1:48 scale representing the Swedish supersonic combat aircraft Saab 37 Viggen in the JA 37 (fighter) and AJ 37 (strike) versions. The model lets you build this unmistakable machine with its forward horizontal canard and its large delta wing. The box holds plastic parts and decals; the exact contents and the choice of color schemes follow the particular edition.
The Saab 37 Viggen was a Swedish multirole supersonic aircraft brought into service in the 1970s, powered by a strong afterburning engine with thrust reversal for landing on short road strips. The canard and delta wing layout gave it excellent agility and the ability to operate from improvised bases. The AJ 37 version served in the strike role and the JA 37 as an air superiority fighter.
Separate the parts from the sprue with cutters and clean up the joints. Use liquid cement for plastic, sand the seams and apply a base coat of primer before painting. An airbrush will handle the Swedish camouflage fields with their sharp divisions; after painting, lay a gloss coat under the decals to prevent silvering and finish the whole with a matte or satin coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
