The plastic kit 1:48 SMB-2 Super Mystere, The First French Supersonic from Special Hobby — the first French production supersonic fighter to glue and paint.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the French Dassault Super Mystere B2 fighter in 1:48 scale from Special Hobby, released under the title The First French Supersonic. The package holds parts in hard plastic and a decal sheet; for the exact contents and markings follow the instructions enclosed.
The Super Mystere B2 was the first French production aircraft able to exceed the speed of sound in level flight. This single-seat fighter bomber with a swept wing and a jet engine entered service in the second half of the 1950s and served with the French Air Force; the aircraft was also exported and deployed by other operators. It was an important step in the development of French jet fighters before the later types of the Mystere and Mirage series arrived.
Use a thin plastic cement and sand the joints carefully. Lay down a base coat (primer) before painting. Metal and natural finishes come out well with an airbrush; the panel lines can be emphasized with a fine wash. Apply the decals over gloss varnish and finish the surface to the sheen you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
