An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Grumman TBM-3 Avenger carrier torpedo bomber in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The model has a detailed cockpit, canopy glazing, a well detailed engine and the option of folding wings. The large 1:48 format shows off the massive fuselage and the generous set of external and internal ordnance.
The TBM-3 Avenger was an American three-seat carrier torpedo bomber of the Second World War. The TBM designation was carried by machines built under license by General Motors, while Grumman designated its own version TBF. The Avenger became famous above all in the fighting in the Pacific, where it attacked Japanese ships with torpedoes and bombs; its dorsal gun turret and roomy bomb bay are characteristic.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. First assemble and paint the cockpit and the bomb bay, then close the fuselage; mask the glazing and paint the frames separately. Apply a primer before painting. Assemble the folding wings and the ordnance carefully. For the naval blue-gray camouflage schemes an airbrush and a fine wash in the engraved lines work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
