The set from the manufacturer Royal Model brings various railings and gratings in 1:72 scale. Unlike most accessories from this brand it is made from quality photo-etched metal (brass), so it offers very thin and sharp sections of a kind a casting cannot manage. It is not a kit but a fine detail set for dioramas, buildings, platforms and ships.
Etched railings replace coarse plastic parts or fill out the places where the real subject has railings: stairways, galleries, jetties, decks and industrial structures. In the small 1:72 scale they raise the realism of a scene markedly.
Cut the parts out of the etched fret, make the bends exactly along the engraved lines (a bending tool helps) and glue them with super glue. Before painting, degrease the surface and apply a primer suitable for metal; an airbrush ensures even coverage of the thin sections.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and further material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
