An injection-molded plastic kit of the Czechoslovak training and sporting aircraft Zlin Z-142 in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model belongs to a series of simpler kits that are easy and quick to assemble, so it suits beginners and younger modelers as well. The Zlin Z-142 is a single-engined low-wing monoplane with a two-seat cabin and makes a small but distinctive piece in a collection of civil and military training aircraft.
The Zlin Z-142 is a two-seat single-engined low-wing monoplane that followed on from the proven Zlin family of aerobatic and training machines. It first flew at the end of the 1960s and served for basic and advanced pilot training, sport flying and aerobatics. It was powered by an air-cooled inverted inline engine. Thanks to its reliability and pleasant flying qualities it spread through flying clubs and training centers and became one of the typical machines of Czechoslovak sport aviation.
It is an injection-molded plastic model that is glued with a modeling cement for plastic; super glue (cyanoacrylate) suits the small or clear parts. Degrease the surface before painting and apply a primer to even out the base. Painting works best with an airbrush in thin coats, followed by the decals and a final varnish (matte or satin). With simpler kits, pay attention above all to a clean fit of the fuselage halves and of the clear canopy.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
