Dewoitine D.520 in 1:72 scale, an injection-molded plastic kit of the French fighter of 1940 from Smer.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the French Dewoitine D.520 fighter in 1:72 scale from Smer. The model is built from gray polystyrene, and the package holds clear cockpit parts and a decal sheet. The molds are among the older and simpler ones, which makes the kit suitable for beginners as well as for collectors of French equipment of the early Second World War.
The Dewoitine D.520 was the most capable French fighter used during the Battle of France in 1940. This single-seat all-metal low-wing aircraft with a liquid-cooled Hispano-Suiza engine carried a cannon firing through the propeller hub and machine guns in the wings, and its performance came close to that of its contemporaries. After the armistice it flew with the Vichy and with the Free French air arms and with several other operators.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, sand the seams down and lay down a primer before painting. The multicolor French camouflage scheme comes out best when sprayed with an airbrush with soft transitions. We recommend picking out the cockpit and the instrument panel before the fuselage is closed.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
