An injection-molded plastic kit of the Grumman F-14D Super Tomcat carrier fighter in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures the most modern version of the Tomcat with new engines and upgraded avionics. The kit offers an engraved surface texture, a cockpit with detail and movable variable-geometry wings. Decals for a period naval finish are included. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat supersonic carrier fighter of the US Navy with a variable-geometry wing. The F-14D Super Tomcat version represented the final stage of development, with more powerful engines, digital avionics and the ability to carry a wide arsenal of guided missiles. The Tomcat stayed in US Navy service until 2006 and became an icon of carrier aviation.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and take care over the correct seating of the fuselage parts and the leading edges. Use primer before painting and lay the colors on with an airbrush. You will bring out the typical gray low-visibility scheme with a slight difference in the shades of the panels and a restrained wash in the engraved lines. Apply a gloss coat under the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
