Pre-cut painting masks for the model of the two-seat F-15D in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-15D is the two-seat variant of the fighter, with the seats in tandem under a lengthened cockpit canopy. It serves for training as well as for combat tasks and it is powered by two turbofan engines. For a modeler the longer glazing means a larger area that has to be covered before spraying.
The masks come cut to shape, so nothing has to be traced or trimmed. On a two-seat cockpit this saves the most work, because there are more frames than on the single-seat version and hand masking easily drifts out of line on them.
Clean and degrease the surface first, otherwise the mask will not stick. Lift the individual parts off the carrier with tweezers and lay them in place without stretching them. Press the edges down along their whole length so the paint does not creep under them. Spray thin and rather more times; one heavy coat leaves a ridge at the edge. Once the paint has set, take the mask off, ideally at a sharp angle and slowly.
For the modeler who sprays paint with an airbrush and wants the glazing and the color transitions clean. The masks are cut to the shape of a particular kit, so check before you buy that they match your F-15D kit. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
