Model-Set is an injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat carrier-based fighter aircraft McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II in 1:72 scale. A set from the Model-Set line is conceived as a complete start to the build: besides the parts and the decals it also contains a set of paints, glue and a brush, so it is enough to get the build going with no further purchases. The model is assembled and painted.
The F-4J was one of the main versions of the Phantom II intended for the US Navy. The two-seat machine was powered by two General Electric J79 jet engines and was flown from the decks of aircraft carriers both as a fighter and as a multirole combat aircraft. The J version brought improved avionics and radar and was among the iconic aircraft of its era.
Use liquid cement on the plastic joints; it wicks into the seams. Degrease the surfaces before painting and apply a primer. Finish the cockpit and the landing gear before you close the fuselage up. The silver and gray surfaces stand out when sprayed with an airbrush, and decals settle better onto gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The Model-Set contains basic paints, glue and a brush; further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
