Wheels for the F-86A Sabre of type 2 in 1:72 scale are a resin replacement for the landing gear wheels of the early Sabre with a tread pattern of its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin replacement for the landing gear wheels of the first Sabres from the Ukrainian brand Clear Prop Models. The designation type 2 distinguishes a different tread pattern and a different form of the hub from the type 1 set, which the maker offers alongside it. The casting replaces the plastic wheels from the box and brings finer grooving of the casing as well as clearer detail of the hub.
The North American F-86A was the first production Sabre and at the same time the first American fighter aircraft with a swept wing used in large numbers. It was powered by a General Electric J47 jet engine and the armament consisted of six heavy machine guns in the nose. It was precisely the A models that in 1951 fought the first duels with MiG-15 machines over North Korean MiG Alley and won the Sabre a reputation that stayed with the aircraft throughout the Cold War. Early examples differed from the later versions in the cockpit, the leading edge of the wing and the equipment of the landing gear.
First wash the wheels, so that no film of release agent stays on them, otherwise the finish will not hold together. Sand the casting remains on the underside of the tire flat according to how the model is to sit, and protect your airways while working. Masking circles or a patient brush suit the hub and the casing; glue the axle in with super glue. A fine dust pigment on the sidewalls of the tire completes the impression of a machine from a field base.
The wheels are supplied unassembled and without finish; paints and glue are separate goods, unless stated otherwise.
