1:72 Fairey Gannet AS.1/AS.4 - Model Set is a complete starter set from Revell: a new kit of 120 parts, basic acrylic paints, glue and a brush in one box.
Responsibility details are not available.
The box of the Model Set range joins a new kit of 120 parts with basic water-thinnable Aqua Color acrylic paints, Contacta Professional glue and a brush, so work can begin right after opening. The decal sheet offers three variants of markings: Australian naval aviation of 1967, British of 1957 and the German Navy of 1958.
The Gannet first took to the air on September 19, 1949 and became the first aircraft in the world to fly with a coupled pair of turboprop units driving contra-rotating propellers. The Double Mamba power plant made it possible to shut one half down and patrol over the sea with exceptional endurance. The crew of three had the task of finding and destroying submarines; with the Fleet Air Arm the type entered service in January 1955 and besides British decks it also served with the German Navy and the Royal Australian Navy.
The plastic offers a well worked-up cockpit, a weapons bay with equipment for antisubmarine warfare, movable control surfaces and a canopy to be chosen open or closed. The most work is taken by the folding wing and the assembly of contra-rotating propellers, which it is good to leave separate until the finish is done. The enclosed paints cover the main areas; for the small details in the cockpit prepare shades of your own.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted, but the paints and glue needed are enclosed.
