Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier fighter FM-2 Wildcat in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss, from its simplified easy-build line. The model has a small part count, one-piece main wing and fuselage sections, and most of the components fit together without complicated alignment. The box contains a rotating three-blade propeller, a clear canopy for an open as well as a closed cockpit, and waterslide decals.
The FM-2 Wildcat was the lightened carrier version of the Grumman Wildcat fighter, built by General Motors. It was powered by a Wright radial engine and it differed from the earlier versions in its taller vertical tail. Thanks to its low weight and good rate of climb it proved itself on the small escort carriers, where it served until the end of the Second World War in the Pacific.
Although the build is easy and some parts can simply be clicked together, we recommend backing the joints up with thin cement for plastic to be safe. Apply primer before varnishing and lay the colors on with an airbrush; the typical scheme for naval machines is a tri-color blue-gray camouflage with a white underside. Mask the clear canopy and fit it only at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
