Injection-molded plastic model of the German fighter monoplane Fokker E.IV of the First World War in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a classic plastic kit to be glued and painted. The exact contents of the package and the range of markings are in the enclosed instructions.
The Fokker E.IV belonged to the first generation of German fighter aircraft of the First World War, to the family of the so-called Eindeckers with wing warping instead of conventional ailerons. It was a high-wing monoplane with a fuselage of steel tubing, powered by a rotary engine and armed with synchronized machine guns firing through the propeller disc. It was on machines of the Eindecker line that the famous German pilots Max Immelmann and Oswald Boelcke scored their victories.
On an aircraft of the First World War period it pays to paint the cockpit and the engine before closing the fuselage up. The rotary engine comes out well after highlighting with a wash and dry-brushing. The bracing wires between the fuselage and the wing can be added from thin filament. The fabric stands out with a restrained finish over primer; an airbrush makes the gentle transitions and the shading of the wing ribbing easier.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
